In December, 2004, I had the pleasure of organizing the International convention for the Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity. Partnered with Dr. Brad Krusky in Calgary and Dr. Marcy Schwartzman in Vancouver, we put on what was one of the best conventions the AO has ever held, filled with our famous Canadian Hospitality. One of the highlights of the convention is our Honours Night dinner where we award someone our highest honour, the Alpha Omega Achievement medal (see the AO website for more information about this prestigious award) as well as the Installation of the new International President. This months photo is taken of me, in my Military Mess Kit, standing with a Canadian Mounted Police honour guard about to escort me into the hall before the awards dinner. I used this picture because now, 8 years later, my co-Marshal and friend Dr. Marcy Schwartzman was installed as AO's next International President at their convention in Scottsdale, AZ. Marcy is only the second woman and the 6th Canadian to ever lead this 105 year old organization.
