In early April 2011, we went to Hawaii for our very first time over Spring break. After a long and cold winter in Calgary (due to the ash in the atmosphere from the Icelandic volcano of the summer of 2010?) we really desired some sun and warmth. We cashed in some hotel rewards we had been saving for 15 years, and stayed at the Marriott resort on the big island of Hawaii. And boy what an incredible week it was. People always called Hawaii a place in 'paradise' and we could not agree more. Now we are scheming to find a way to make a trip to one of the Hawaiian islands a regular thing.
