The second youngest of 13 children, Dr. Stanleigh was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. After graduating as an Ontario scholar, he continued his studies at the University of Toronto completing his Bachelor of Science (Biology), Masters in Science (research on Cystic Fibrosis) and Doctor of Dental Surgery.
In 1987, Dr. Stanleigh moved to Calgary with the Canadian Forces serving as Dental Officer with the Canadian Forces Dental Services and with NATO's ACE Mobile Force. Retired at the rank of Captain, Dr. Stanleigh took over his current practice from Dr. Roy Rasmussen in May, 1994. He also spent one year as a part time clinician at the Foothills Hospital Department of Oral Medicine.
Knowing that research leads to better dental care, Dr. Stanleigh practices based on the principles of modern preventive dentistry, evidence-based dentistry, and minimal invasive dentistry.
According to the Alberta Dental Association and College, Dr. Stanleigh is not allowed to inform you on this website about the courses he has taken in dentistry, his area's of special interest, his Honourary Fellowships, other awards, appointments and honours, his volunteer work in dentistry, his leadership roles in dentistry, the dental organizations he is a member in good standing, lectures he has performed in dentistry, companies he consults with and more. And most important of all, Dr. Stanleigh is married to Tina, and father of two daughters, Isabel and Samara.
